Restoration

Czech National Museum

As part of the reconstruction of the National Museum in Prague, we have implemented 426 replicas of hand-painted panels of richly decorated glass ceiling, the dome and some windows covering the 287 m2 of the space. Our in-house artist Zdeněk Kudláček and his colleagues worked on this unique painting technology on safety glass for almost one year.

During World War II the original glass ceiling was completely destroyed and subsequently replaced by cheap white plexiglass, which served for roofing for several decades until 2018. Only a few drawings, a few fragments from the shards of the original glass, and negatives on the glass plates that have been digitized have been preserved in the National Museum depository. These modest materials then served to define the original color of the painting.

The renovated building of the National Museum on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the founding of Czechoslovakia was officially reopened on October, 28th 2018 during the formal ceremony. We were proud to had been part of this beautiful and important work.

Amsterdam Centraal

The total installation consists of 31 light columns.

The luminaires are made by modern fusing technology in the studio of Michal Ullrich. In order to achieve the perfect shape of the individual components, it was necessary to use the computer 3D model technology and subsequent 3D printing to prepare very precise forms for glass slumping. To achieve the desired aesthetic effect we used layered glass that locked glass micro bubbles in thus helped to illuminate the entire glass. As a light source, LED technology with adjustable light temperature was used to be in tune with its surroundings. The frame is made of hand-polished high-quality stainless steel.

A number of important factors had to be taken into account in the preparation of this project. The luminaires are located in a passage through which tens of thousands of people pass every day. It was necessary to maintain the safety of passengers even in the event of an accident or vandalism. The station is very busy and passing trains carry significant vibrations throughout the building.

White Tower

Imagine 3.8 m high crystal tower made only from glass. More than one ton of crystal. More than 500 pieces that had been hand cutted and polished piece by piece by our master cutter Petr Stehlík. Imagine exact 1:20 scale model of existing White Tower in Hradec Králové, Czech Republic.

The glass model of the White Tower is unique in the world. It captures the White Tower, one of the most important Renaissance buildings in the city with its original Gothic chapel of St. Kliment that underwent a Baroque reconstruction in 1747. The model is illuminated with special RGB lights that allow you to change its appearance throughout the color spectrum. It was made of hand-polished blocks of extra clear glass. These blocks are completed by hand cut and blown shapes in a combination of glossy and matt glass.

in 2016 the reconstruction of the White Tower won the National Architecture Award 2016 Grand Prix Architektu.
